Non-Discrimination Statement

Saint Francis Center Equine Assisted Services (“SFC”) is committed to providing access to its programs and services in a respectful, inclusive, and non-discriminatory manner. SFC does not exclude, deny benefits to, or otherwise discriminate against any qualified participant on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability, age, or any other status protected by applicable law.

Participation in equine assisted services is subject to reasonable eligibility, safety, clinical, and program-readiness requirements because services involve live animals, outdoor environments, and activities that may present physical, behavioral, emotional, or environmental risk to participants, staff, volunteers, and equines.

SFC may decline, defer, suspend, or modify participation when, in SFC’s professional judgment, participation would pose an unacceptable safety risk or when the participant’s needs cannot be reasonably accommodated within the scope of the program. This includes, but is not limited to, individuals with pyromania or untreated Tourette syndrome when symptoms, behaviors, or treatment status create safety concerns in the equine assisted services setting.

Unless otherwise approved as described below, SFC Equine Assisted Services are available to participants ages 10 through 64. Participants who are 8 or 9 years old may be considered for participation only when qualified and approved by an SFC Clinician based on clinical readiness, safety, program fit, and the ability to participate appropriately in the equine assisted services environment.

SFC will consider reasonable modifications or accommodations for qualified individuals when such modifications can be made without fundamentally altering the nature of the program, exceeding SFC’s scope of services, or creating a direct threat to the health or safety of the participant, staff, volunteers, other participants, or equines.
